Bali to produce 110,000 tons of fish

This target is expected to be achieved, given the fishermen and freshwater fish farming had made maximum efforts to increase production, said Head of Fisheries and Maritime office of the Province of Bali, Gusti Putu Ir Nuriartha said here Friday.
He said the increased production of the fisheries sector will have positive impact on efforts to overcome poverty for fish farmers and fishermen who live on the coast.

Why Not Be A Political Consultant?
I've just read an article about political cosultants in Indonesia on Kompas newspaper today (June 14, 2010). A political consultant is a person or an institution that creates certain images of political candidates to attract voters in elections, be it national, provincial or regency.
Efforts a political consultant conducts to boost up votes:
1. Mapping votes by preliminary survey, focus group discussion, media discourse analysis
2. Influencing voters through advertising (televisions, radios, newspapers), non-media advertising (banners, pamphlets), socializations and empowerment programs
3. Monitoring voters by campaigners' training and figure recruitment; training for election witnesses in order to be militant in balloting places; conducting quick count survey.
The cost to use the service of political consultants varies in accordance with different purposes. it costs candidates Rp 100 - 500 million to conduct only preliminary survey for election on regency level, which depends on the locations. the further the location (i.e. outside Java island), the higher the cost. National preliminary survey costs Rp 400 million to 2 billion.
Political advertising for governorial election costs candidates 1 - 5 billion rupiahs per month while presidential campaign through advertising costs candidates 5 - 10 billion rupiahs per month.
The most shocking fact is, for governorial election, one candidate should spend 20 billion rupiahs for political consultants to create and boost up his/her images, while presidential condidates 30 billion rupiahs.
Surprised? Well, you should be. The negative impact is how should we ask their integrity while they are in power when a political campaign costs candidates so much?
But, the positive side is to become a political consultant is a business opportunity. There are only three prominent institutions providing the service: Lingkaran Survey Indonesia led by Denny JA (http://www.lsi.co.id/), Fox Indonesia founded by Rizal Malarangeng (http://www.foxindonesia.co.id/) and Pol Mark Indonesia founded by Eep Saefulloh Fatah and Charta Politika led by Ir Luvie Triadi (previously, Bima Arya Sugiarto) (www.chartapolitika.com). I always prefer the positive side and I believe you do. Why do we not learn anything about political consultant and be one of them? We still have 4 years to election day 2014. Who knows we might be rich :)Kamis, 10 Juni 2010
How To Start a Freelance Home Business
How To Start a Freelance Home Business
Author: Rob Palmer
Many people these days are searching for home business opportunities where they can work from the comfort of their own home, be their own boss, and get the financial benefits that are involved with this kind of work. Unfortunately many people do not know how to go about doing this and so they look at many different home based business opportunities and get caught by the scams, eventually becoming disillusioned and wondering whether this is just a wonderful dream. The truth is that you can work from home, earn a living and enjoy all the benefits involved by learning how to find genuine home based jobs and how to start up your own freelance home business.
Freelancing is the best home based business as it stays away from scams and offer people genuine home based jobs where they can set their own hours and their own rates (within limits). The first thing you will need to do in order to start your freelance home business is to find freelance work contracts. In order to find these contracts we suggest looking on freelance jobs boards such as freelanceworkexchange.com, elance.com and guru.com. These home based jobs boards offer many opportunities for people wishing to get involved in freelancing and all you need to do is sign up with one or two of them and then start tendering for projects.
When tendering for projects it is advisable to either have a portfolio of your work in the field that you are tendering on or to be able to provide examples of your work in this area. Very few people will offer you freelance employment without knowing something about the standard of your work. In some areas this may be more difficult and it is more acceptable not to offer a portfolio of work, such as administrative fields, but in others such as writing and art a portfolio is vital for getting good freelance contracts. If your field is one where you are not able to submit a portfolio, at least have some references that people can contact to find out more about you.
Once you have won some freelance jobs it is important to set up a freelance contract. This should include the rate you are charging for the work, a delivery estimate of when you should have it completed by, payment terms as well as any other aspects which may be important for your work.
Home based jobs do provide many benefits but unfortunately many people have gone about getting involved in home based business in the wrong way. One of the best ways you can get involved in home based business is through freelancing. You can find freelance jobs on freelance jobs boards. Once you have found jobs that you are interested in submit a tender with a portfolio of your work or references and then when you win the tender establish a freelance contract with the person who has awarded you the project. By following these simple steps you will soon be enjoying the benefits of home based jobs.

Freelance Writing
By: Tom McMullen
If you have a flair for writing, a computer and are self disciplined you could do freelance writing for your home business. Many people are outsourcing things such as article writing or even blog content. Many websites want and need people to write up content for their sites. There are many possibilities and most freelancers work for more than one company or person.
The beauty of it is that you decide for whom you want to work. There are some full time freelancing jobs to be found as well and if you find one you like, it's best to get it and stay with it. If you go to any of the open article sites and submission sites there are normally forums which often have job listings, sometimes called "gigs." You can also start contacting any business or write up a sales letter for yourself and send it out. You could be hired not only for the purposes already mentioned but also as a transcriptionist or a data entry person.
Companies are cutting costs and one way they are doing that is by hiring people to work at home. If you are completely unfamiliar with freelancing you may want to do a little research first to find out what prices you should be expecting. The amount paid for freelancing varies greatly depending on the type of work and also the company hiring you.
Self discipline is required because most of the time there are deadlines which must be met. This of course depends on what job you are doing but deadlines are very frequently part of freelancing. It becomes too easy to put it off and then find you do not have time to make your deadline. Working at home is great if you can remember that you do indeed have to get the work done.
Freelance writers are expected to become even more in demand. Social networking is also a great way to find out who needs writers. It is good to have some sort of a portfolio or collection of work that prospective employers can see. This will give them an idea of what type of writer you are and what your writing style is. Some company's will ask that you specifically type up an article for them. If possible, start your own free website or any website and write some articles or stories to show those who may be interested in hiring you as a freelancer. Have a variety of stories or articles such as some on tips and how-to, one or two humorous articles and maybe a heart-felt personal story.
Most freelancers are hired as contract workers so basically, you are doing work for someone else, but it is your business. If you enjoy writing and want your own home business, freelancing certainly is worth exploring. You do have the freedom of working at home and you basically can take on as many or as few jobs as you would like. You will still need quiet time to get your work done though.
